 Our research lies at the nexus of community ecology, ecosystem ecology, and conservation biology. We study how human activities alter the links within terrestrial plant communities and between communities and ecosystem function. Many of our projects investigate the impacts of exotic species in disturbed temperate forests.

  • Lab alumnus Kevin Berend has had the second paper from his MS thesis, "Plant traits and community metrics across a snowmelt gradient at alpine snowbank sites on Mt. Washington, NH" accepted at Rhodora. Congratulations!
  • Welcome to new graduate student Ray Marszalek!  Ray will be surveying birds and anurans as part of the Coastal Wetland Monitoring Program, and assisting with trap set-up and monitoring as part of our spotted lanternfly monitoring project.
